2005 Thurston Scholastic Chess Tournament Results
How to read these tables:
# = Each players final place number. The total number of points is always the first number used in determining order. Players with the same number of points are tied. Tie-break rules are used to order players who have the same number of points. Tie-breakers account for the strength of play of each players opponents, and are usually some variation on the idea of adding up the opponents scores.
Rating = The USCF rating received from playing in matches sanctioned by the U. S. Chess Federation.
Rd. # = The players results in that round. The number following the result symbol gives the players opponent number (example: W12 means the player won against player 12). W = Win (1 point), L = Loss (0 point), D = Draw (1/2 point), B = 1 point Bye (no opponent available), H = 1/2 point bye (pre-arranged absence in round 1), U = Unplayed or withdrawn (0 point).
Total = Total number of points received.
