Illustrated Soft Resin Step By Step
Illustrated Soft Resin Step By Step
Step One: Painting Maya Red (not really)
- Because we wanted something simple that we could show the steps to, we
chose the Maya model. It's a very good first model, and it's also a good
get-a-feel-for-it model. That and it's cheap. I think the set of Maya,
Rei and Asuka was acquired for around 25 to 30 bucks. A very good
investment for tons of cute...and practice.

- Despite it's simplicity, the many colors needed for Maya are:
- Dark Brown...hair, eyebrows
- Light Brown...eyes
- Flesh tones...a light one for her skin
- Cream...tunic top
- Black...iris, boots, laptop
- Tan Gold...belt
- Orange...shoulder design
- Gold...uniform outline, belt buckle
- White...highlights, tights
- Because it is sculpted that way, you can, if you want, put most of the
model together before you paint it. But still, for the best results,
you should paint piece by piece

- One thing you should definitely paint solo like, is the piece of
Maya's bangs. Why? Because the bangs hang a little, and if you did put
the entire model together first, painting the back of the bangs would be
hellish. That and Maya might end up with dark brown face paint
streaky things

- Which ever way you decide to paint it, you can now wait for it to
dry
