Illustrated Soft Resin Step By Step
Illustrated Soft Resin Step By Step
Soft resin is the friendly meeting ground of plastic and resin, and
therefore is very soft, almost like soft vinyl, but not quite. It's much
lighter than regular resin, and can take more of a fall if you happen to
knock it over *cough* not that I know. Our model for this section is
an SD Ibuki Maya kit
Preparations
- Lay those pieces or trees out and make sure you've got everything you
need as indicated on the instruction sheet. Better to be safe than sorry,
and besides, how could Maya type without an, urm, arm?
- In Maya's case, the model makers decided it would be infinitely more
useful to label Maya's body parts instead of what color to paint her
*BOGGLE* In this case, go out and surf the net for a pic of her, or take
a look at an Evangelion tape cover
- Snip snip or cut those pieces out now, making sure to flash them
- After flashing and sanding, you may want to wash up the pieces in water
to truly remove any excess bits and pieces.
- Some people like to fit the pieces together now to make sure they fit
weel together. This is just a dry fit only cos most likely, you still
want to paint those pieces separately...unless it's a two piece slime
model from "Dragon Quest"...*ponder*
- Now, our favorite step, go to the basement, garage etc., to prime the
pieces. Ben laid out each piece on a flat surface and used plain white
primer
- Wait for it to dry
