Paints

regular ole paints

Your ordinary bottled paints used for painting delicate portions or for minor corrections in painting. Made by Gunze, these cost approx. 100 yen a pop, or $1 or $2 and come in 24 colors

spray paints

Available in 24 colors, this is the soul of painting a gundam model for the average joe. The are easy to use and cheap, running at about $4-5 or 400-500 yen a pop. They are also manufactured by Gunze

Gundam Markers

GM sei zoroi

Useful in detailing and corrections, Gundam Markers come in 12 colors, are produced by Gunze and run at about 200 yen a pop. I've seen these in the states selling at around $5 or more xp When using these markers, you may want to lightly sand the surface of a kit instead of directly painting with them for it helps paint adherence. The nibs on these markers resemble those of a calligraphy pen

sumi ire GM

Designed especially for drawing in panel lines, these Gunda Markers come in three colors: Black, Grey and Brown. They are enamel based and thus erasable with a plastic eraser, and much finer than the standard art brush, coming in 0.04 mm nibs. These are also 200 yen each and in the states, $5 ish

Brushes

three brush types

Three brushes of different sizes, used for detailing and later on, dry brushing for effects

Miscellaneous

Mr Surfacer

Available in the 1000 and 1200 type, Mr Surfacer 1200 has newly improved and finer spray quality. For a 1/100 scale, the 1200 also packs enough surfacer to completely cover the model. The 1000 series costs 400 yen, and the 1200 600 yen ($4 and $6 respectively)

Mr Thinner

Mr Thinner (do the names every stop? it's like the Fantastic Modeler Four) and a especially made tray for mixing. Thinner is used to *thin* bottled colors, was brushes off and occasionally correct minute errors. The thinner itself is 400 yen or $4-$5, and you can purchased the special tray things for ten for a dollar (100 yen)

Mr Super Clear

Mr Super Clear...*sweat drop*...This is a shine guard used during the finishing process for more realistic looking models. Available in dull and duller strengths, these run 700 yen ($7-$8) a pop

masking tape

Special masking tape for modeling. The displayed sample is from Tamiya and can get pretty expensive. This type of tape is designed to stick, but not adhere and thus pull off paint, and is used in the masking process to avoid bleeding and the such
