A beautiful, recently remodeled two-bedroom flat located on the first floor of an impeccably maintained Victorian mansion block in the heart of Bloomsbury. High ceilings, lots of light. 24-hour porterage and a private garden for residents. Contemporary bathroom and kitchen fittings, including dishwasher, full-size oven and refrigerator, five-burner gas stovetop, microwave, washer/dryer. Internet and cable connections, 28-inch Sony television, DVD player, VCR The flat is two and a half blocks from the British Museum, a short walk from the new British Library. Major bus routes and the Goodge Street tube station are a scant two blocks away. Restaurants, cafes, and shops of all sorts abound. One of the largest bookstores in London (Waterstone's on Malet Street) is one block away.
This flat is an ideal sabbatical flat for 1-2 people or a family of four. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed, bookshelves, plentiful storage space, and a small desk. The second bedroom includes bunkbeds, wardrobe, a large desk, reading chair and lamp. The living/dining room features two sofas, one of them a sofa bed for short-term guests, and a dining room table large enough for dinner parties of 10 (we like to cook for our friends). For breakfast and quicker meals, there is a smaller table in the kitchen.
Available for 8- to 10-month rentals during the academic year, for shorter periods during those portions of the summer when we cannot be there ourselves.
