- What Line In and Line Out Do
-
The colored squares on Line In and Line Out are terminals. A
wire can be attached between two terminals if
one is an input terminal and the other is an output terminal.
- An input terminal will always be found on the left side of a
module, while an output terminal will always be found on the right
side of a module.
- The output terminals for Line In are Left and Right channels. Same
for Line Out.
- When ELE is started, one Line In and one Line Out module will be present.
These modules are unique as they cannot ever be removed, and no more
Line In and Line Out modules can be inserted either.
How to use terminals and wires
-
Wires can be created by clicking on a terminal and then another terminal of
opposite type - a wire must go between one input and one output terminal. When
you create a wire between two terminals, any wires previously connected to
either terminal are destroyed. To destroy a wire, you can click on one of the
terminals and then click Disconnect from the menubar.
-
You can patch an effect into an existing wire without destroying the wire first. This
will eliminate moments of silence while you frantically try to click as fast as you can!
To do this, click on one end of the existing wire and then click Patch from the
menubar. Then click on an input and an output terminal of the new effect in either order.
It will be patched into the existing wire!
Try This
-
Connect LineIn Right to LineOut Left and vice versa - your input sound will
have it's channels switched.
