Transport racks for masts

Leatherwork for gaff jaws.
July 2, 2007
The main mast is about three-quarters whittled. An evening or two should see it ready to varnish. I worked up a couple of transportation racks for the masts. They drop in where the masts would be, and will seal the mast partners against rain water.

The main mast is finished but for a few more coats of varnish. Leatherwork is finished on the gaff and boom jaws.

It appears that the spell of high heat/humidity has broken. Varnishing and crawling around to run wiring will be a lot more pleasant now.

Some progress on the little fiddly bits this past week. The weekend was spent instructing at the Red Cross, and painting my mother-in-law's deck.

The masthead light is wired, and wiring is run throughout the hull. Need to install the distribution panel, selector switch, and mount the battery pans.
