Got a start on the centerboard trunk this weekend. Beastly cold and raining for the most part, with no fit weather for photography. Got some more inside work done on the master bedroom passage.

The door trim for the room will also be a copy of the existing pillar and architrave door trim elsewhere in the house. Here is a quick shot of some of the boards being assembled. Yes, that really is a Stanley* Model 45 in use. I used it to cut the beading. Each column is built up from three pieces, which you can see outlined in the photograph.

Parts for the centerboard trunk all roughed in over the weekend. Next task is to cut the slot in the bottom and test fit and mark for the bottom curve.

Managed to hang the roughed-in centerboard trunk inside the hull and get it marked for trimming to match the curve of the hull. My knees are going to be so happy when the hull is turned over and I no longer have to crawl under the thing to work on the inside.

Centerboard case back out of the hull, dissassembled and ready for final interior finishing and attaching bed logs.

A pair of struts was dropped into each end of the trunk. These had been marked in advance with the intended height of the trunk top above the floor. The trunk was raised above this point, the struts clamped into place, then the whole was lowered. The trunk was adjusted until the sides were plumb.
