The Latent Image Gallery operated as a photographer's co-op organization from 1984 to early 1986. Its purpose was to gather together local photographers and provide a display space for their work. The members engaged in group projects, grant-writing, and mutual support.

While relatively short-lived, the gallery created contacts, friendships, and a period of increased productivity for its members.
