Got the rough structural work finished over the weekend. Joists are 2X10 12 inches on center spanning less than 6 feet. The column base cores were pre-loaded by lifting the columns about 1/4 inch with 4-ton jacks, then settling them back onto the bases. There is direct transfer of the weight to the foundation throughout. In about fifty years or so when this project has to be re-done, some poor builder will be cursing my departed soul for the overbuilding bastard that I am.

Structural inspection passed, on to the decking.

Subdeck installed. The multiple lamination/floating deck design should pretty much eliminate leakage through the deck-something which got tested almost immediately by a serious rain.

Next stage.
