Jan Steeman's strikes are really simple: a really well dressed and extremely sympathetic guy wants to see your apartment to rent a room (he usually asks for quiet rooms with internet). Using his sympathy, and convincing you that he will buy stuff at Ikea you get his attention. Then he tells you he will deposit the money on your bank account, and after some lies you give him the keys before he hasn't even paid anything. When you come back your apartment is empty, and all valuables with him.
Other times he stays in the apartment (1 to 2 months), using it as his HQ. He puts advertisements offering a room which is actually the room he is living in, and steals the safety deposit.
He usually rents a car, showing up with it. We believe his drivers license is his real one.
He usually steals electronic equipment, although he occasionally took an electric guitar valued at 3000€, but also old computers, computer manuals, highly-prized books, digital photo camaras, MP3 players
When he meets a new victim he does something very psychotic: he steals the identity of one or more of his previous victims (mixing them). Jan Steeman stole documents to present himself as someone else.
