Unemployment Assistance Process

Provide the patient or family with information about Michigan unemployment eligibility and process by giving them a copy of the information below.

If people are in the hospital or disabled due to injury, they are unable to draw unemployment for the period they cannot work. Remember to remind patients and families about this if they indicate they have been on unemployment when injured or hospitalized or their condition changes to where they no longer can work.
