INTERVENTIONS THAT WORK!

Self Regulation is a cognitive behavioral strategy that has been tested for its effects on improving physical activity in women.

Technique consists of having individual write down:

1. most important current wish regarding physical activity

2. most positive outcome of realizing their wish

3. most critical obstacle together with events and experiences they associate with this obstacle

4. three implementation intentions with the following questions:

a. When and where does the obstacle occur and what to do to overcome or circumvent

b. When and were is opportunity to prevent the obstacle from occurring and what can be done to prevent it from occurring

c. when and where is there opportunity for action on the desired goal and what would this action be.
