Needy Meds. Maintains a data base of assistance programs. This handy web site also offers help in searching by disease for program assistance. It also maintains a list of free/low cost clinics.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance. A data base of private and public programs. Has information on other types of assistance such as help with copayments and premiums.

Consider checking to see if your county has a prescription assistance program. Your local department of public health can assist you to identify if there is such a program in your community.

Walmart has a $4 per prescription fee for a wide assortment of generic drugs. Michigan has member stores that are participating in this program. Target has a $4 per 30 day prescription fee program and has added a $10 for 3 month component. Some of their super stores have pharmacy service. For a listing of drugs, go to the pharmacy section of the Target website.

Rx Outreach is an online website that offers more than 350 generic medications at a cost of $20 to $95 for 180-day supplies.
