If a family is requesting assistance in obtaining an emergency visa for a relative abroad, consider these steps that they can take to facilitate the process.

If a patient has lost his or her passport or visa, such as following a residential fire, locate the Embassy or Counsulate of their home country on the web. Usually this needs to be reported ASAP. However, you can speak with the Embassy staff and identify what should be done given the circumstances and medical condtion of the patient.
