To Obtain a Police Report

 

To acquire information on whom was involved in an accident and to follow up with Auto Insurance.

 

1. Contact the police post that responded to the accident and get a complaint number. If it was in a city or township, it might be the local police. If it was on a state or county road, it is likely the State Police. For a listing of local police in Michigan, go to the 9-1-1 web site.

2. Then contact the State Police Records office in Lansing 517-322-5509

3. Give them the following information:

They will either fax or mail the information, you must indicate which you want. They may also charge a fee.
