Medicare Drug Program

Starting January 1, 2006, Medicare will offer insurance coverage for prescription drugs to all people with Medicare.

People in Michigan can get assistance in understanding the options available to them by contacting the Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP). Phone (800) 803-7174 This organization also assists seniors to understand other aspects of Medicare and Medicaid such as long-term health insurance, paying for nursing home coverage, etc.

The Medicare Web site also has (increasingly) helpful information about the drug assistance programs.
