Margaret O'Mara is the author of Cities of Knowledge: Cold War Science and the Search for the Next Silicon Valley (Princeton, 2005).  Her lecture is drawn from a new book project about the metropolitan landscapes of knowledge production (university campuses, research parks, high-tech districts) through comparative analysis of the United States, China, and India.
