Benedict Lackhand: the great king of Avalon, who rules his land
with an iron fist. Yes, that's just one iron fist; Benedict is missing
one hand. No one is quite certain what role he currently plays, having
withdrawn his armies from Chaos and taken up residence in Avalon. He is
Gerda's patron and possibly Fletcher's father.
Blaise: a wizard and a bard, he remains in the
shadows.
Gerda: oldest daughter of Lord and Lady Feldane,
protegé of Benedict, and his appointed man-at-arms. Gerda has been
given numerous dangerous assignments by Benedict, most recently tracking
down Grayson (Random). She is about 150 years old.
Grayson: a demon hunter encountered early on by our intrepid
cousinly party. He was later proved to be Random, King of Amber, and has
lost almost all of his memory in attempting to defy the curse which
prevents his return to Amber.
Harrison: co-owner of Infernal Image, Inc;
Cecily's older brother. An academic, he is the author of several famous
papers on Beholders, thanks in large part to his sister's first-hand
research. He is also a necromancer of some ability, and is being pursued
by Kazor/Zamorna.
Ilie: the Eyrien cousin of Dragos, Ilie grew up to be
the second-in-command of the Eyrien warlord. Adept with the bow, he has
been sent with the party to keep an eye on the women, in case one of them
is the prophesied mother of the Wind-Speaker.
Julius Hawksworn: Lord Ranger of New Arden.
Lachesis: a prophet, who lives
alone in a distant forest; she seems to know all about a person just by
looking at them. It has been revealed that she was once known as
Fiona, a princess of Amber. After the Exile began, she lost much of
her memory due to the curse. She is also the mother of Harrison and
Cecily Greyfalcon, but does not remember them.
Llewella sar Lir: queen of Allemain. Llewella
remembers more about her past than any of the Exiles the party has met so
far. She has retained her abilities of shadow-shifting, and has sent her
daughter with the party to help in finding Amber.
Lucas Reynard: a wealthy tycoon in the Golden Gate,
he went missing shortly after employing Grayson a few short months ago.
He was captured by Kazor, who wished to use Luke to understand Brand
(Luke's father) better; the party rescued him from Kazor's clutches.
Merlin: Lord of the Indigo Rivers of the Darkling Realms; Korbin's
son. AKA Merle Corey in the Golden Gate. He and Luke have spent some
time trying to create a computer interface for Trump.
Osric:
The older brother of Benedict, Osric has been dead/missing from Amber for
millennia.
Rhiannon: Lady of the Shining Waters;
Princess of Allemain. A relative innocent to games of power, she was
convinced by Kazor to turn over Harry and Cecily to him after he abducted
Llewella. She has been sent with the party, to aid them in any way
possible in order to atone for her mistake.
Rowan: Lady of the Silver Marches of the Darkling
Realms; Korbin's daughter. She is the lord of Rose Court, and a great
patron of the arts, and patron of Griffin.
Salome: Deirdre's daughter and
Salome's mother. She was an agent for Kazor/Zamorna for many years,
believing his lies that the Exiles were responsible for her mother's
death. Later, she fell into company with Bleys, who told her a different
version of things. When Kazor threatened her son in order to keep her in
line, she decided to work against him, and began by leading Fletcher to
Shen.
Syrana: the youngest daughter of
Lord Feldane, born in Chaos to a Chaosite mother. She is much
sought-after by certain members of the party as an, er, companion.
|

that rescued the party from attacking Beholders; he tricked Stark into
marriage. When she refused to acknowledge the marriage, he stayed behind
and suffered underneath a spell cast by Fletcher, in which Dragos' will
dream every night of Stark's worst moments in life.
Dor: an arrogant young Eyrien, cousin to Ilie
Embeth: the Faerie Queen, she was once known as Florimel.
She has not retained all of her knowledge of Amber (like Llewella), nor
has she lost it all (like Fiona/Lachesis). Instead, she has synthesized
what she does remember with her new life, and begun again. She is a
completely different person than when she left Amber.
Erisrakari: Shen's father
Feldane: a noble, beholden to Benedict; came from Amber to
Chaos to fight in the Battle of Thelbane, accompanied by his daughter,
Gerda. He left his wife behind in Amber. He has since had a bastard
daughter (Syrana) with a Chaosite.
Lady Feldane: Gerda and Matthias' mother and the leader of the
Council of Nobles in Amber. She had her husband declared dead and took
over the leadership of the noble houses of Amber. In a purely political
move, she seduced Gerard and bore a son by him; this did not endear her
to anyone in particular, and Gerard simply took the child from her to
raise as his own.
Gérard: father of Matthias, and the only elder Amberite
to have remained in Amber and retained his memory.
Marcus Greyfalcon: the deceased demon-hunting father of
Cecily and Harrison. He is standing at the "First Gate" of Death, waiting

Dragos' tribe. He acted as Shen's guide through a long pahren; Shen has
experienced every significant moment in Leiko's life, including his
enslavement in Chaos and his escape through the caves to the enclave of
Dragos' people.
Dr. Claude Mathers: The Greyfalcon family doctor, he has been
with them at least as far back as Cecily can remember.
Jade Matthews: Stark's first cousin, a young academic interested
in all aspects of the occult. Now deceased, killed by Hakthla.
Jasper Matthews: Stark's first cousin, a young demon slayer.
Brother to Jade Matthews. Now deceased, killed by Hakthla.

know her until he was a man, as he was not the son of her husband. He was
fostered out with a family of farmers.
Whitehart: a noble beholden to Benedict
Lady Violet Whitehart: Lady Feldane's younger sister and wife to
Lord Whitehart. Violet despises her older sister, and has been more of a
mother to Matthias than Lady Feldane has.
