According to tradition, Arthur fought twelve great battles in his early career-- and then one last, disastrous battle in which he perished. The battles are first mentioned by Gildas Badonicus (the suffix came from the fact that he related the details of the battle of Badon)-- though Gildas forbears to mention Arthur, or the leader of the Britons throughout his recitation.
Below is a list of these battles, in chronological order. Camlann is set off by itself, as not being part of the initial twelve. The last battle on the list is only laterally related to King Arthur, but provides some interesting insights.
