I am an associate professor of linguistics at Cal State, Northridge. I have broad research interests in linguistics, and have worked on research questions in syntax, semantics and pragmatics, and morpho-syntax. This is a pic of me.

I did my PhD at the University of Michigan and then taught at Carleton College and the University of New Hampshire. I have a long-standing interest in Hawaiian and comparative Polynesian linguistics. I have also examined the form and interpretation of morphological imperatives, and in particular languages for which morphological imperatives cause problems for long-standing ideas about the semantics and pragmatics of imperatives. The morpho-syntax of valency change is a more recent area of research.
