Using the Collections at Michigan

All of the materials used in the Nineteenth-Century Edo Project are part of the collections of the Libraries and Museums at the University of Michigan. The Asia Library, Bentley Historical Library, William L. Clements Library, the Museum of Art, and the Map Library and Special Collections of the Hatcher Graduate Library all house important Japan resources.

Both the Asia Library and the Clements Library provide fellowship funds for research using the University's collections.

While much of the collections can be searched through MIRLYN, the University's open access catalogue, individual libraries and museums have online finding aids to assist with objects and archival matter.
