Room 5: People

Many of the following photographs are from my long-term black-and-white portraiture project, to which I have subjected many of my long-suffering friends, acquaintances and housemates. I have found black-and-white much more satisfying for photographing people because texture and contrast allow one to create more evocative and powerful images without the distraction of color (Since in buildings texture and tone are often more significant aesthetic factors than color, I have also found black-and-white more satisfying in urban photography as well.)
