Sunghee joined the group in December of 1992 with extensive
experience in physical chemistry acquired in graduate school at POSTECH.
Here she is in February of 1993 putting together our surface machine for
the first time. In the background is Earl Bernier, a machinist at Brown
who provided a lot of help and guidance. Sunghee pioneered the Silicon/Silicon
Oxide interface project as the first graduate
student in the group. She graduated with her PhD in the fall of 1996 and
won the Brown Chemistry department's Potter prize for the best PhD thesis.
Sunghee is now at Texas A&M University where she has a postdoc with
Prof. Wayne
Goodman.
