When your eyes are closed...she may leave you floating is a performance work for two dancers and a narrator/violinist about the disaffection of one person for another because of a preoccupation with work or possessions.

The work is a collaboration of artist Paul Marquardt and choreographer Patricia Plasko based on a painting by Paul Marquardt.

The violin used in this performance is a five stringed instrument designed and constructed by Paul Marquardt. It is a MIDI instrument used to trigger sound from a digital sampler and control MIDI sound sequences on a computer.

The sound score, composed by Paul Marquardt, is a combination of live and computer sequenced sound triggered by a MIDI violin (musical instrument digital interface) played by the narrator. Projections are also controlled by the narrator.
