Israel

Israel and Judaism has a deep place in my heart. Duh . . . how else could someone keep kosher for 9 years! Even though I was there twice in the past year (thanks, Mark and Barb), I can't wait to get back to the sunshine on the shores of the Mediterranean.

There is more information here than you could possibly read, so just follow your interests and be curious. Anything that catches your fancy can be turned into a "bookmark" for later perusal. You can print material that you want to have in hardcopy. Some stuff is quite long, so be careful.
Judaism and Jewish Resources (http://shamash.org/trb/judaism.html): This site is a thorough index for Jewish resources on the WWW, catagorizing them by topic and including a brief explanation for each site.
The Jewish Communication Network (JCN) (http://www.jcn18.com/): JCN seeks to create an on-line center where families, teachers, writers, Jewish professionals and organizations from around the world can create a vibrant digital Jewish community. Our team of writers, artists and programmers brings together creative talent and technical wizardry.
The Ultimate Jewish/Israel Link Launcher (http://ucsu.colorado.edu/~jsu/launcher.html): If this title suggests to you youthful bravado, you may be right. Its brought to us by Steve Ruttenberg and the folks at the Jewish Students' Union at the University of Colorado, and it's at least penultimate. It is fairly comprehensive and has an excellent search feature.
Macom Networking (http://www.macom.co.il/index.html): This is a valuable Israeli-made site containing links to the Virtual Israel Musem, Tel Aviv Museum, Living Hebrew Language, Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, and many more.
Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs (http://www.israel.org/): The Internet web site of the Israel Foreign Ministry, established and maintained by its Information Division, is designed to provide you with basic information about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Israeli government, the peace process, and recent developments in Israel. It is one of the best gateways to information on Israel.

The Jerusalem Post (http://www.jpost.co.il/): The Internet edition of one of Israel's leading newspaper includes a comprehensive daily report of what is happening throughout Israel and the world.
Israel Line (http://gauss.technion.ac.il/israeline/): The Israel Line news service is edited by the Israeli Consulate of New York. They provide a daily summary of news from the Israeli press. The Technion maintains an archive of news reports from Israel Line, including the latest news.
Kol Yisrael (http://www.artificia.com/html/news.cgi): Latest audio news from Kol Yisrael Radio in Hebrew (full reports) and English (headlines only) are available from Artificia in Tel Aviv. Both RealAudio and Internet Wave Format are supported.

Partnership 2000 (http://www.outreach.umich.edu/Partnership2000/): Partnership 2000 is the Jewish Agency's program which aims to create a "living bridge" between Jewish communities abroad and Israel's regional development efforts. It was designed to encourage economic growth and foster people-to-people connections between Israel and Jewish communitites abroad. The program focuses on absorption of new immigrants, business development, educational opportunities, fostering Jewish identity and improving the quality of life.
Jewish Agency for Israel World Zionist Organization (http://www.ja-wzo.org.il/): These two Israeli agencies are provide fundamental support for all of Israel and Jews throughout the world. Their joint web site gives a comprehensive review of their various departments and programs, including a special "Chairman's" section for interaction with Avraham Burg and a description of where your money goes. This is a great resource for getting factual information about what is presently going on in Israel.
The World ORT Union (http://www.ort.org/ortnet.htm): The World ORT Union in London has a Web servers with information about its services. ANJY - A Network for Jewish Youth is one ORT project on the Web server. Exhibits on this server are of special interest to young people, including a tour of the Diaspora Museum, a prototype software system for teaching bar-mitzvah lessons, and several educational games.
