Vacuum extraction lines in the laboratory are used for the preparation, generation, and/or extraction of gases from a variety of sample types including bulk carbonates, waters, fluid inclusions, organic materials, sediment, phosphates, and silicate minerals.  Lines shown are (1) conventional preparation line, (2) extraction line for cryogenic separation of carbon dioxide from water, (3) laser line, (4) silicate line.  Lines not shown include a fluid inclusion line, a small silicate line, and a line for the extraction of hydrogen from minerals.
