COURSES TAUGHT AT U OF M

IOE 513 - Seminar in Health Care Operations Research

This course provides an overview of the role of operations research in healthcare. It surveys and evaluates research done in this field and addresses some of the key technical issues encountered when developing healthcare operations research models. Insights will be shared about carrying out collaborative research with healthcare professionals.

Taught IOE 513:  Fall 2010, Fall 2011, Fall 2012, Winter 2014, Winter 2015, Winter 2016, and Winter 2017

Next Time Offered: Winter 2019

IOE 316 - Introduction to the Markov Processes
Introduction to discrete Markov Chaina and continuous Markow processes, including transient and limiting behavior.  The Poisson/Exponential process. Applications to reliability, maintenance, inventory, production, simple queues and other engineering problems.

Taught IOE 316:  Fall 2010, Winter 2011, Fall 2011, Winter 2012, Fall 2012, Winter 2013, Fall 2013, Winter 2014, Fall 2014, Winter 2015, Fall 2015, Winter 2016, Fall 2016, and Winter 2017

Next Time Offered: Fall 2017

IOE 440 - Operations Analysis and Management

Principles and models for analyzing, and managing manufacturing and service operations as well as supply chains.  Emphasis on inventory management and control, capacity management, queueing models of operational dynamics (including cycle time, work-in-process inventory, throughput, and variability), the math and physics of enterprises.

Taught IOE 440:  Fall 2013, Fall 2014, and Fall 2015
