I am from a Canadian landscape much like that depicted in Tom Thomson's landscape painting, The Jack Pine. Since leaving Canada, I have had the opportunity to live: in the tall-grass prairie in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, in downtown Chicago in a southside Italian neighborhood, in Phoenix, Arizona, on the edge of South Mountain Preserve, and now in Ann Arbor, Michigan in a traditional neighborhood rich in social capital. My work continues to explore the ways our landscapes shape us and the multitude of ways in which we now shape the natural landscape.
