The paragraph below is a description of our trip to Madurai to the Aravind Eye Hospital. There are links that you can click on to get to other web pages for specific cities and places.

We spent five days traveling in Tamil Nadu State in the south of India from Chennai (formerly Madras) through Mahabalipuram , Pondicherry and Thanjavur on our way to our destination at the Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai , where we stayed. I was working as a volunteer sponsored by the Seva Foundation doing data analysis on a survey of blindness prevalence in Siem Reap Province in Cambodia being carried out by the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmalogy (LAICO) in Madurai. I stayed for 4 weeks, and Jim stayed for 2. We loved the Indian food and the people we met and worked with there. Some pictures from our trip are included here. The only problem was that our stay was too short!
