Information for students

At this time I am not taking applications for graduate students, although I will be glad to discuss potential research collaborations. I am currently working with several graduate and professional students based both at the University of Michigan and at other universities.

I have worked with over 100 University of Michigan undergraduates through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) and the Michigan Research Community. These are excellent programs and can provide course credit or work study hours. I have also supervised Psychology honors theses and independent studies (e.g., PSYCH 327. Faculty Directed Early Research for Psychology as a Social Science).

If you are thinking of applying to graduate school, you will of course need good grades and test scores, but the single most effective way to have a competitive application is to gain research experience, skills, and products. I have co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and several dozen conference presentations with undergraduate students.

The easiest way to reach me is via e-mail (kruger -at- umich -dot- edu), as I am often out of the office. I can send you my papers that are not available publicly or through your library upon request. Some journals do not permit papers to be posted on public websites such as this.
