STATE OF NIKOLAY KOLESNIKOV'S HEALTH IS GOOD

YEREVAN, October 18 (Noyan Tapan).

The results of analyses of Nikolay Kolesnikov, the best-known AIDS patient who took a course of treatment with Armenicum, are good, Dr. Levon Mkhitarian, who examined Kolesnikov and his wife at the "Armenicum" clinic, told reporters October 18. The initial analysis - the examination and determination of the number of CD-cells - has already been made. The results of the examination show that the patient's state of health is good. Kolesnikov's state has been stable for a year and a half after he took a course of treatment. Before the treatment, the number of CD-cell was 420 (now it is 763); he had furunculosis, weakness and other symptoms. Mkhitarian said that Kolesnikov does not need an additional course of treatment now. The state of most of the 192 patient treated with Armenicum is good and stable. But final results can be summed up only after the clinical tests of the preparation. The terms of the test were determined so that a period of at least two years pass since the day the last patient selected for the test was taken to the clinic. Kolesnikov himself said he feels a healthy man now. His most serious concern is not to lose his job. That is why he does not tell anybody his address. Kolesnikov heard the rumors about his death many times; the first time he heard it from foreigners who were in the "Armenicum" clinic within him. They showed Kolesnikov the information in the Internet. The information contained the line "Kolesnikov is dead". Kolesnikov thinks that the rumors are spread by those defending the interests of their countries: "Big money is circulated round the AIDS". He also pointed out that none of the Russian medical specialists dealing with the AIDS problem has met with him after his treatment with Armenicum, though they expressed negative opinions of the preparation in the press. The only treatment Kolesnikov took after he knew he was ill with AIDS was that with Armenicum. "In Moscow, one-month course of treatment costs $1,000," he said. Marina was infected by Kolesnikov. But, unlike Nikolay, she did not manifest specific symptoms. She also took a course of treatment. Both think that they can have children. "We are waiting for the doctor to say that we can," Marina said.
