THE FIRST PATIENT TREATED BY ARMENICUM FEELS WELL
YEREVAN, APRIL 13, ARMENPRESS:
"As you see, the rumours about my death have been exaggerated," announced
at today's news conference a 20 year old Russian Nikolay Kolesnikov, who
was the first patient to have been treated by Armenicum, an anti-AIDS drug
reportedly developed by Armenian scientists. Kolesnikov, who has arrived in
Armenia with his wife, is to undergo a thorough medical examinations and
the doctors will decide whether his blood still contains AIDS virus. His
wife Marina is also to undergo medical examination. Speaking to Armenpress
correspondent, Kolesnikov said his health condition was well and so far he
has not had any health problems. He said he had recently worked as a loader
in the Russian town of Ivanovo which is "a good proof of my being well."
David Aslanian, head of the Armenicum Information Centre told that
Kolesnikov's visit to Armenia will put an end to constantly put into
circulation rumours about his death, "reported" by several Russian and
foreign mass media. The reason accounting for these false rumours is an
announcement made by Russian doctor Pokrovski, head of Russia's AIDS
Centre, who alleged that Armenicum was ineffective, said Aslanian. David
Aslanian also said that the special clinic in Yerevan, adapted for
treatment of AIDS-patients has temporarily suspended reception of new
patients. However, 10 Italians have recently got here their first portion
of injections and departed home awaiting for the second course of
treatment. According to Aslanian, up to now 170 patients have been treated
by Armenicum and virtually all of them feel well. A recently published book
about Armenicum says that besides eliminating AIDS virus, Armenicum is also
very effective in treating such diseases as B-type hepatitis and some other
infectious ones.
