Fiction Non-Fiction
In this section, you'll find the best examples of fiction I've written to date. I try to cover a range of topics and experiences in my creative work, but at the end of the day I can only write what I know. Sometimes things are sad, sometimes things are funny, and sometimes things are just a little weird. This section contains both creative more journalistic or academic non-fiction. However, the tone of these pieces never quite approaches one that seems completely appropriate for traditional academia.
Academic New Media
This section contains traditional, academic writing. The pieces here are necessarily, highly argumentative, and often assume that the reader is familiar with either the text or subject in question. In this section, you'll find examples of new media writing and projects I've done. For the most part, these pieces are either supplemental to or inspired by some other piece of writing featured in my portfolio. If this is the case, it's noted in the description that introduces the piece.
Writing as Process Blog Post Archive
This section contains a detailed, step-by-step explanation of the creation of two major pieces of writing featured elsewhere on this portfolio. By mapping out the genesis and evolution of these projects, we can see just how process oriented writing really is, and how no piece of writing is ever necessarily "finished." An archive of all of the blog posts I've written thus far for the Sweetland Center for Writing's Minor in Writing blog.
