Non-fiction is cool because non-fiction is so many things. I personally have a special love for creative non-fiction, but I love it all and feel most comfortable when writing in this genre.

The Walking Dead of Wall Street Then I Came to the Beginning I'd Rather Laugh with the Sinners
I like zombies. So, I decided to write a mock-Rolling Stone article that compares the Occupy Wall Street protest to surviving a zombie apocalypse, similar to the one seen in George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. An autothnographic essay written for my semianr in peer tutoring, Then I Came to the Beginning is the story of my journey as a writer, how I abandoned writing, and how I eventually came back to it. One of my favorite pieces I've written, I'd Rather Laugh with the Sinners is just a reflection on growing up. It's the the story of my adolescence and how I became the person I am now. The entire story is centered around one very important basement.
I'm in Love with a Sadist Time Keeps on Slipping
Related to Then I Came to the Beginning, this piece started as a manifesto about why I write, but then evolved into more of a discovery. Writing is really difficult and exhausting and can even be a little abusive, hence the title. But, I keep coming back to it. A reflective piece that tackles the issue of time management present when working with new media. The paper, though argumentative, is not purely academic in tone.
