Academic writing and argumentation can be boring, but it can also be really interesting. I'm particularly drawn to literary theory and I enjoy examining texts through various critical lenses. I also really enjoy research projects (is that weird?)

I used to hate Nathaniel Hawthorne and his writing. But, after writing this paper for an American literature class, I discovered I have an enormous amount of respect for the man, and especially his short stories (I'm still bitter about having to read The Scarlet Letter,though). | A research based exploration of perceptions of university writing cetners. While the findings may seem a little grim to those who workin them, the essay ends on a hopeful note, proposing strategies that seem to work for bettering people's misguided ideas about writing centers. | A short analysis of two medieval texts: John Heywood's Johan Johan and an unattributed poem, Ballad of a Tyrannical Husband. Though both texts are constructed similarly, they both have very different effects. |
