Marklin Magazin
Very shortly after I became involved with Märklin, I learned about Märklin Magazin. I haven't missed an issue since 1984 and it has become my favorite train magazine in a first place tie with Eisenbahn Magazin. Märklin Magazin has really matured over the years but it has always been the source of articles on specific prototypes. In my building this website, I have found this magazine an invaluable source of information on German locomotive prototypes. I could not have done all this work without this magazine! Since I now have a complete collection (thanks to Horst-Werner Dumjahn Verlag in Mainz) starting with the premier issue, I compiled an index to the articles that cover these prototypes. You'd be surprise how extensive this coverage is. Click here to see the list of articles on the steam prototypes, electric prototypes, diesel prototypes and miscellaneous prototypes.
Please note that my listings are only for feature articles. No attempt has been made to include short news items and articles about locomotives other than those from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Also, the editors of this fine magazine have also published illustrated parts breakdowns (exploded views) of many Märklin locomotives. Like the articles on the prototypes, I have compiled and index of these helpful drawings. Click here to see what Märklin locomotives are covered in the of assembly drawings. These useful drawings are not done for all of their locomotives.
