Ph.D.
in Geochemistry, 2004, University
of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign,
Illinois, USA
|
Research Interests:
High-performance
computer modeling and simulations: Applications of quantum chemistry and
molecular dynamics in Earth materials and geochemistry. The research is highly
facilitated by supercomputer centers including TeraGrid
(NCSA, NICS) and NERSC.
- Phase behaviors
(defect, phase transition, melting) of materials at extreme condition
(e.g., high pressure, high temperature, high-energy irradiation).
|
- Order-disorder and
defect in complex oxides and nuclear waste forms.
|
- Interaction between
biomaterials and mineral surfaces, biominerals, biomineralization.
|
- Gas hydrates,
hydrogen clathrate hydrate for hydrogen storage.
|
- Molecular
modeling of water at interfaces of Earth materials, biomineralization,
water-vapor interface.
