Cornelius was born in Valburg, Gelderland, Netherlands. His sister, Evadina van den Wiltenburg, married Hermanus H. van Rheeden. Evadina is believed to be buried in this cemetery but the location is unknown. Cornelius's brother, John van den Wiltenburg, is buried in Big Spring cemetery.
