Women’s professional sports are on the rise. The Harris Poll shows that women’s sports are widely spectated, and not only by women but by men as well. Sports are a big part of our society and everyone who enjoys sports can appreciate women’s athletics. The world cup in a great example where there is a consumer surplus; there are not enough seats for everyone who would like to attend the games. It was shown by tennis fans that they prefer to watch women’s tennis to men’s because of the nature of the game. If women’s sports continue to be promoted and supported it would be likely for many new professional leagues will form.
