Pre-Session - April 12, 0 P - Arrived in this place called Amber, after walking what seems to be known as "broken pattern" in Maximillian's Laboratory. Upon arriving at the pattern's center, I thought of Grandfather and arrived in his rooms here in Amber. After a little reconnaissance work, I ascertained I was in fact truly here. It took some convincing, but things seem to be smoothing out for me finally. At last everything Max has been talking about is beginning to make sense. Amber does exist. Queen Sand convinced me of that. Incidentally, I find she is a woman that it would be better not to cross. Though she could make a powerful friend, I don't believe I want her for an enemy.

Pre-Session - April 13, 0 P- Did some exploring of Amber Castle and Amber city. Bought more appropriate clothing for this place. I also obtained basic leather armor and fencing swords, and practice blades. One can never be too well trained. Have been experiencing "Abort, Retry, Fail" Errors with my internal computer. I think it is nothing.

Session 1 - April 14, 0 P - Attended the formal reception for the Chaosian Ambassador, Lucier. Though he had wings, his attitude was anything but angelic. His assistant Llatteri's presence seems to have upset Llewella. Finally, his ward, Shaenan reminds me of a troubled youth. Will youth angst never end? Emma seems to be a bit testy, not sure if that is her attitude, or if I caught her on a bad couple of days. Meridian seems like an odd duck, but harmless enough, though I am not sure the same can be said of his demon, Nix. Jasra reminds me of "Glinda" the good witch of the north. She also comes off as haughty as all hell. Don't believe I care for her much. Incidentally, while meeting Jasra, I spilled wine down the front of my dress. My internal computer registered Chaosian energy. Someone from Chaos is trying to make me look foolish. I will have to be on guard. We shall see. I have also begun morning "workout sessions" with Llatteri. She and I are working on swordplay. It was also announced that a formal reception honoring the newfound Amberite children will take place next week.

Session 2 - April 15 - 16, 0 P - Dressmaker from Amber city showed up in the castle today. I ordered more clothing including dresses and some pant outfits, capes and blouses. I talked with Flora about Chaos, and she tells me that they are Shapeshifters. And that we, the "Children of Amber" are perhaps descended from them. Though, she says we have all lost the ability to shapeshift. Later, while fencing with Llateri, and learning some Chaosian tricks of swordplay, I asked her about Chaos, and got a lot of the same information. She told me that shapeshifting is an ability that all Chaosians have. I will have to investigate this further. I wonder ... I experienced another "Abort, Retry, Fail?" error in my internal system today. I also had a nosebleed at about the same time? Was I about to experience a brain hemorrhage? When I ran a diagnostic it told me that it was incomplete and that the power system was low. I decided the best course of action was to contact Sand concerning my problems. She and I seem to have developed a rapport. I met with her immediately in her chambers. I explained the situation, and that I may be in danger. She immediately transported me, via her flying chariot, to her summer home. From there, she painted a picture of my shadow, first by asking questions about it, and second by mind to mind contact with me, in order to gain a better perception of it, I believe. She gave me a Trump of Amber for my return. I went through the picture. I arrived on my home world and made arrangements for repairs. The doctor looked into my problems, and concluded that some strange radiation was to blame for my problems. She replaced my Power Cell, and added shielding to it, my Internal Computer, Regenerator, Psychic Block and my newly installed Internal Scanner and back-up power supply. Everything seems to be operating at optimal levels. The doctor tells me that the shielding is impervious to all kinds of radiation, so I should have no more problems. I also sent a letter to the Admiral concerning my disappearance (it has been nearly 2 years there). I touched on no specifics, other than I thought Max was insane, and that I would be away for a long time. Later, I went to the beach and spent a week relaxing and tanning. The castle can be overwhelming, and I wanted to be in my best shape for the upcoming ceremonies. Sand told me about the time flow differential, so I knew that I had plenty of time. I returned to Amber on what was in their time early the next morning and returned the Amber Trump to Sand.

Session 2 - April 17 - 21, 0 P - I did a bit of exploring today. It seems we have more Chaosians in Amber than I was aware of. I detected 4 Chaosian energy patterns behind a door in one of the Castle wings. I didn't hear anything beyond the door though. Not sure what was up. I also found a trapped door It had a "Spider-web" trap on it. Touching the door knob called the guard. I evaded detection, and continued to search, but found nothing of note. I returned to the room and entered it quickly, relocking it to foil the guards. I searched, but found nothing of interest, except a suit of man's armor. It was much too large for me though. I left via the window after hearing the guards outside. I shimmied along the wall, and tried to pass an open window, only to find Adrian looking out at me. He allowed me to access his chambers to get back into the castle. It was quite humiliating. I will have to watch him and cover my back. I also made a search of Meridian's rooms. I found a set of Trumps, obviously made by the same hand that made the one of Maximillian, now in my possession. I took the Trump deck, and was quickly confronted by Nix. Damn demon seems to be able to merge itself with the floor. It demanded the cards back. I played innocent. I returned to my rooms to find my laptop, long-range scanner and other possessions missing. I crawled into my bed and slept with my sword at my side.

Session 2, April 20, 0 P - I met with Nix and returned all but one card to him after a lengthy conversation about what might happen if my gear was found next to a miscellaneous body in Amber city. I do not think he realized the deck was shorted. I kept a card of someone we shall call Jacque, for lack of a better name. I don't know why, but I feel it may be important in my dealings with Max. I do not believe Nix will mention this to meridian unless he finds it useful. I shall have to be more careful with this one. I asked Cassilda about hiding places, and she thought it would be best to re-furnish the whole suite. In the furniture I will install several hidden compartments, some within others. I have resolved to carry all of my Trumps, Credit Card and fake ideas on my person at all time. The dressmaker has seen to the pockets that I requested. Sand has procured a page boy to follow behind me carrying my sword. I think this will only be necessary on those rare occasions when I am not wearing it. Tomorrow is the confirmation ceremony. I should get some rest.

Session 2, April 20, 0 P - Formal Introduction ceremony. Things were fairly quiet to begin with. Other than my corset bursting open a few times, the first 1/2 hour went smoothly. I suspect that the corset was Lucier's doing. Then my internal computer warned me that a Trump Gate was being initiated through me. Moments later, approximately 20 people showed up through the gate, among them was Maximillian. He then ordered all of the cyborgs, demons and humans to attack. I rushed toward Max, and was confronted by a demon. I dispatched of it quickly, and continued on toward Max. Upon reaching Max, I started to attack him. We fought for a few moments before he commanded me to "Drop your sword." I immediately dropped it. I was unable to resist the command word. I am not sure if it was sorcery or HIGH psyche. Meridian pulled me away from Max before any damage was done. Immediately afterwards, I felt Emma trump Max, and then saw a sword appear in his chest. I must be wary of Emma's Trump abilities. I have also gained new respect for Meridian. I will have to thank him. I went to Emma's rooms shortly after the attack. She and I discussed the fact that the attack gate seems to have been focused through me. We have agreed to meet tomorrow for breakfast to further investigate. After a while, I found Sand. She confronted me with a Trump deck found in my room. Supposedly Brand's deck. I have had a guard posted to me at all times. At least it will stop me from being further framed......I hope. Later, at dinner, Sand gave me a ring designed to block psyche. It is a level 8 ring. Further, after speaking with Meredith later that evening, I had her initiate Trump contact with Max, but we were unable to contact him. She thinks the lack of contact is shadow based.

Session 3, April 21, 0 P - Woke up early, and had a meeting with Emma. She recommends I keep the ring on at all times until more can be figured out about the Trump-Gate incident. She is going to consult Gawain about it. She also asked me particular questions about me possibly being in Amber City the previous evening. I reminded her of my house-confinement, and explained I had spent my evening with Meredith in the Castle. I fenced with Llateri as usual, and then to the pool. It was all uneventful. I received a visit from Lord Hindon in my rooms. He asked, on behalf of Sand, for all Lyellsberg's Trumps. I informed him that Sand had all of those Trumps. He thanked me and moved on. I received a note from Meridian asking me to meet him. I met with him, and we further discussed Nix. He also told me of a similar visit by Lord Hindon. I became worried about Hindon supposedly gathering Trumps on Sand's behalf, especially when we had already given ours to her. Meridian and I went to Sand immediately. We explained why we were there, and Sand looked panicked. She checked her quarters and then ordered Meredith, Shaenan and Emma to initiate a sweep for Shape-Shifters within the palace. Nothing turned up. Meridian and I suggested that he and I travel away from Amber to conduct some Trumping experiments without my ring. Sand suggested a trip to Arden with Julian. Arrangements will be made shortly.

Session 3, April 22 - 23, 0 P - Woke up early and played croquet with the family. I won, of course. Sand made a somewhat unsettling announcement though. She announced that Emma is now heir to the throne. Everyone at the event dropped their mallets. It was quite unexpected news. Shortly after croquet, everyone retired to their quarters to prepare for Uncle Gerard's funeral. Part way through the funeral a "black cloaked figure" showed up. It seemed suspicious and Emma and I gave it chase. It got away though.

Oh, I nearly forgot, earlier today I was introduced to my new body servant "Roland". It is strange, he doesn't register on my scans of him. He just shows blank. When I questioned him about this, he told me that he used to serve Martin. Martin found him in shadow and had "Shields" installed for his protection. It seems odd to me. He is replacing Cassilda as her brother has been injured. I am not sure I trust him, but he did attempt to help me.... but more about that later.

Meridian and I went to Arden with Julian. Nix and Roland accompanied the three of us. Nix seemed to be wary of Roland and vice-versa. The moment I removed my ring, I felt a mind contact. I heard "Trump gate initiated...3-2-1. Meridian seemed to be sucked into the gate, though no one else was affected. I tried to jump after him, but Roland knocked me away. At that moment, Max, Victoria and some cyborgs appeared. I do not think it was them though...I think they were images in our minds. I then passed out for no apparent reason. I woke up and we returned to Amber. As we (Emma, Julian and myself) were preparing to search for Meridian, a strange procession showed up. Apparently aunt Deirdre is not dead, or someone is impersonating her well. I spoke with Meredith and Gawain about the disappearance of Meridian. Gawain and I believe it has nothing to do with the Sufferer's Guild. Later, Deirdre and I redecorated her quarters and discussed ways of having Nix removed from the castle. Later, during a conversation about Meridian, in which I detailed the differences between this gate and the previous one, and voiced my suspicions that it wasn't the Sufferer's Guild, Sand confirmed that it was Emma, and that she was teaching Meridian a "lesson". She say s she is testing Emma. I think Emma needs a lesson. I was introduced to "Lissa" by my grandfather. He brought her from shadow to teach me broken pattern. She is apparently an adept at it. She hails from a shadow near "Ig". Ig is the tree at the boarder between Chaos and Amber.

Nix was placed under house arrest by Emma and placed in the dungeon. Nix shortly escaped by causing a heart attack in both Julian and Emma as they were visiting her. Moments later, while searching for him, I was warned he was out, but little did I know that the warner was him. He had assumed the form of a serving maid. He then gave me a heart attack and stole my sword. Later, I heard stories from the serving maids that Lucier had been seen in Amber City, dancing around with my sword and mocking me. He shall have to be punished. Later that day, Sand returned my sword, and told me that it had been given her by Lucier. Sand invited the family to lunch, and introduced Faust, the son of Fiona and Mandor. At the end of the day, Sand announced that Deirdre, Faust and Flora would leave for the Golden Circle Shadows to further work on Diplomatic negotiations, and that herself, Benedict and I have an "errand".

Session 3, April 22, 0 P - Dinner - Delegation from Tirnagoth has arrived. It consisted of the ladies Alexandra, Megalara and Tessa, as well as the Princess Lillith. It turns out Lucier is the father of Lillith and that he descended from Dworkin. The three ladies are Dworkin's sisters. This was not all brought out at dinner, but apparently the facts became known during the day, and the gossip reached me via Cassilda. Interesting. I wonder if the former ambassador will walk the pattern someday.

After dinner, I went in search of Sand. She was with Benedict. Upon finding her, it was announced that we were leaving immediately. She, Benedict and I trumped to shadow Verity. As soon as we arrived, we saw pictures on the wall, that apparently include members of the Sufferer's Guild. These included Lucier and Faust. Sand was not in the least worried about them. She apparently has information she has not chosen to share. We went up the stairs toward the quarters. We found Max there. He tried to make Roland have me drop my sword. Roland had him drop his. Benedict engaged a steel spider on his head which seemed to immobilize him. Then Mirelle and Victoria appeared. They attacked; Mirelle with her flesh runners, and Victoria with her Spika d. Sand turned Mirelle to stone, as well as Maximillian. Victoria asked Leviticus to "seal the room". Flesh began to coat the doorways. We decided to Trump Out before trapped. We dropped the 2 new statues in the hall in Tirnagoth for storage. The room was full of Statues. It was VERY eerie.

Roland and I discussed the issue of being linked. We reached an agreement on it. He will not distort my reality, and I will not try to have him removed. I learned he can manifest physically somewhat, via my Psyche. Later, I fenced with Llateri and then swam with Shaenan and Lillith.

Trial - Julian is acting as prosecutor and Swayvill's appointee and Llewella as the Judges. Half way thru the trial, after nearly indicting Llateri for framing him. (At least in my opinion.) The trial was closed to the public and Lucier was found guilty. Apparently a part of his self was responsible. He is being sentenced to stay in Tirnagoth under "house arrest" until further notice. He may leave as long as accompanied by one of the sisters or Lillith.

Session 3, April 27, 0 P - After the trial, I received a note from Emma about scheduling a Trump sitting. I immediately responded that I was "at her disposal". Later, I received a note from Meredith asking assistance with a project. I immediately contacted her and offered my services. Afterwards, I tracked her down and we discussed the project. She has to fix the marred Primal Pattern. I have agreed to be her "sword" protection.

Later - I got another message from Meredith and met her, Meridian & Shaenan in Meredith's rooms. She trumped us to the Primal Pattern. As soon as Meredith started working on the pattern the Sufferer's Guild showed up. Llylesburg, Victoria, an unknown (Derrick) and someone posing as Maximillian were there. I immediately began my fight with Llylesburg. After quite a battle, I beheaded him. I retrieved his sword as it seemed to have unusual properties. I turned to fight Victoria, and I saw her hanging from Maximillian's hand with a spike from his hand thru her head. Sand then showed up. Then I heard meridian shouting that Sand is Brand. Apparently not so dead as believed. Though, if Deirdre survived, I cannot fathom why they thought he did not. Shaenan was fighting the unknown member of the Guild, the next thing we knew, some creature (apparently Shaenan's natural form) was turning on us. Either Shaenan turned on us, or he was turned. Before we could fight the beast, It was pulled away via Logrus energy. Meridian, Nix and I trumped out to Rebma with Llylesburg's body over my shoulder. When we arrived, we searched his body, and I found some Trumps (Trumps of Doom). They were trapped, as when I looked at them, I was pulled somewhere unknown. I immediately trumped Benedict, and he pulled me back. He then burned the Trumps. He identified the Sword as Brand's. He took it to return to Emma, the apparent rightful owner.

Dinner - I was seated at the table, and it was announced that Bleys and Fiona were restored from Stone. I was flabbergasted when I saw Bleys, and the word "Father" tumbled out of my mouth. After dinner he and I talked, and discussed why he had never claimed me. Apparently he was afraid I would be implicated in his schemes. We fought for a while, and then felt much better.

Session 7, May 1, 0 P - May 7, 5 P - Gawain came to my rooms today. He expressed an interest in having dinner. His pretense was that he had trained with my father, and thought he ought to show respect to his daughter. I get the impression he wants more. Perhaps a "fling"? He came back later to pick me up for dinner. I advanced on him and threw him to the bed. We had sex. It was quite good. He must be well practiced..... He awoke later that night from a "nightmare". He didn't say what it was about, but he was slapping at his temple. Later, I told him to leave, before we were caught together, but I really just wanted to get a decent night's sleep. In the morning, Roland informed me that I was pregnant. I decided it would not be wise to have the child in Amber, so I tracked Bleys down in Arden. I convinced him I needed to return to RLW 1289. He handed me a trump of it. I trumped there and spent 4 years raising my child. During Emily's 4th year, Roland detected a Logrus energy attempting to snatch Emily away. The warning was sounded, and the nanny got her back to me.

I trumped Benedict and explained the situation. We also called in Bleys. Benedict tracked the source down, and found Mirelle. She had recently been visited by Lucier and Shaenan. Lucier must have been at the attempt on my child's life. He will pay for it. Dearly. As will Shaenan for his involvement, whatever that may have been.

I trumped home for the wedding of Gawain and Emma. It was quite dull. I left as soon as possible, and returned to Emily. We then spent another few years on RLW 1289, and when she was old enough, I took her to earth for schooling in the Humanities at Stanford. Benedict and I have also been training her with the sword and Bleys in Trump Art. She did quite well at both.

In the meanwhile, I returned to Amber, and began my position as acting Captain of the Castle Guard. I have been able to insert key men and women all over the Castle that are loyal only to me. Under Benedict's guidance, I have learned the necessary skills to take full charge of the Guard.

Session 7, May 10 - 15, 5 P - Talked to Meredith during breakfast and we arranged for a meeting after lunch. Katrina runs into Meredith who asks after Shaenan. She replies he has left the castle. I like Meredith; she is someone in the family I feel as though I can trust.

Later, Meredith finds Katrina. They discuss the Pattern, and the fact that a "curli-cue" now exists at the center. She is aware of this. Katrina asks some questions about Pattern. It now may cause insanity to walk the Pattern, per Meredith. I wonder if Meredith is insane? If so, what a commentary that I think she is the safest in the family. Meredith comments on Katrina's implants. I wonder how much she knows about them… Could she really guess the full extent of the powers I have implanted? Meredith has pointed out that they may "Fuse" to me if I walk the Pattern with them intact. Meredith notes a Chaosian in Arden and alerts Julian, who releases the hounds. How does she do that? I will have to ask her.

I use Roland to contact Emily and ask re: new "counter-earth" Trump. She informs me it is nearing completion. Using Roland to contact Emily seems to be the safest method. It is harder for people to listen in on us that way.

I find Meredith again. We discuss "Pattern tracking". She says she can pinpoint how many people have Pattern in Amber. She disappears for a moment and says there are currently X number of people with Pattern in Amber. (Matthew needs to fill in the X) She will continue to monitor this every other day, and Katrina will match it off against known Amberites in the kingdom. (It will later become unnecessary after brand dies.) Meredith gets summoned by Emma and leaves. That queen has got to learn to request, not "summon".

Emma summons Katrina. She fills me in on the following:

1. Nix is being manipulated by Brand.
2. Nix has been contacting houses in Chaos who are allies against Despil.
3. Meridian passes info to Emma. Contacts include Lord Theocritis Hendrake and his son Lonradin.
4. Brand is having allies gather in Begma.
5. I am scheduled to leave for Chaos and Begma to investigate.

Later, Emma contacts me again, and informs me that Meredith is to be sent with me. Has someone gotten to her? Why has she changed her mind?

I Trumped Meredith to discuss plans to leave, and end up pulling her from a box with one air-hole where she is naked. She apparently had vital information for Emma who didn't think her Trump contact was important. I here the guards have gone crazy and ransacked Meredith's rooms. I Trump Emma. It is refused. I Trump again. I end up in Rhiannon's dollhouse. "That BITCH!" She will pay for this. How can she effectively manage a kingdom when she never has information on what is going on? She acts like a spoiled petulant youth, and I must do something about it. The kingdom is not safe with her at the helm. I see Rhiannon. I contact Emily via Roland and have her pull me thru a Trump contact.

I Trump Meredith and let her know I am ready to leave. Fiona breaks the contact. I get Trumped by Fiona. My shields go up. Fiona shows up. We have a minor altercation. She mentions what problems "parenting can have". I know she is referring to Emily. I wonder how she found out, or if she is just guessing. Only time will tell.

I find my guards and order them to find Meredith for me. I go to her after she is found, and we Trump to Begma. I get notified by Emily regarding the Rhiannon/Brand incident. I return.

I get to the Queen and Gawain, and inform them of the situation. They are in their room having sex. Typical. An emergency arrives, and where is the queen. "Getting screwed." Well, so is the kingdom at this point. The story tumbles out. Everyone moves to the "War Room". I listen to Emma and Gawain until a magical barrier goes up. Emma is unhappy with Katrina's lack of kissing her ass. She plans to remove Katrina from her post soon. We will see about that, I must contact Meridian, perhaps he can help. Gawain puts up a magical barrier and Katrina can't penetrate it to listen.

War Room - Story rehashed. We decide to have genetic testing done on blood on the hat pin. I go to Shadow RLW-1289 and have tests prepared. It is Brand. I give results to Emma, and then sleep.

I discuss in broad terms with Meredith removing Emma from the throne. She agrees that Emma is not doing a good job. She rules by emotion, not logic. We discuss, and decide to give her another chance. I don't know if I can agree to that completely though. I must gain support. Perhaps Emily can be of help. Perhaps an army on RLW-1289. We will have to convince grandfather it is necessary for Amber.

I Trump Shaenan and discuss in broad terms the same thing. I ask if in such a situation, would house Sawall support a new Queen? He replies…"Perhaps." I don't trust the damned shapeshifting freak, cousin or not. I will have to watch him…carefully. He seems to be playing both ends against the middle.

Madness and multiple Brands beset Amber. Females come down with a plague. Katrina beheads many Brands and burns them. Plague ends. Apparently Emma and Meredith did it. Something with the Jewel.

I pickup an explosion. I go to Brent's rooms. I see Meredith pop in. She takes us to the family crypts. We see Emma, Caine and Benedict facing off. Meredith tells me they are all shapeshifters in their wrong forms. "Benedict" kills "Emma" (Bad Mirelle) by beheading her. "Benedict" is (good) Mirelle. I swing at "Caine". He disappears. We talk and return to the castle. Katrina sleeps. After all, it has been a long day.

Session 8, May 10 - 15?, 5 P - I woke up in incredible pain this morning. Pain so excruciating that I could hardly think.

I trumped Mirelle immediately. She shows up and immediately calls for Gawain, apparently my implants are causing the pain, but she can't seem to shut them down. Gawain is able to shut them down thru magic. (Scary thought) After quite a bit of surgery, Mirelle is able to fix the following:

Further, I seem to be "Abyssal" now. We are not sure how it happened, but apparently someone already abyssally tuned has infected me. After the surgery, I was able to reboot from back-ups, but they seemed to be damaged as well. Gawain shut them down again. He did some kind of investigating. I seem to have also lost my broken pattern abilities. Gawain also got help for my daughter Emily. She was apparently experiencing similar pain to mine.

Later that day, I ran into Meredith, she SHRIEKED. I think it was a reflex reaction. I hate to think it was something I did. I send a letter to Emma…"What should we do with Flora". She arranges a meeting with me, where she removes me from my post as Captain of the Guard. Apparently either Meredith or Shaenan has turned on me. I think it was Shaenan. He is going to pay heavily for his interference in my life. First he attacked my daughter, and now he is trying to get me beheaded. I will have his head before the year is out, unless he is VERY careful. He slips up one time, and his head is mine.

Again, I speak with Meredith about the abyssal taint. After the conversation I feel a strong need to walk the Pattern, even if it does cause slight insanity. I do some testing and find the following people are abyssal:

Perhaps Shaenan or Llateri did this to me. I doubt it was Osric. Grandfather is keeping him on a short leash.

Later, I had yet another discussion with Meredith (We should get a direct line). We discussed walking the Pattern again, and she told me that Emma has decreed that she will have the heads of anyone that walks it without her permission. It is probably a long shot to ask, but I must. I think I must walk the Pattern or die. I make an appoitment for the next day with Emma.

The next day…

I attended the funeral for Llewella in Rebma. I spoke with Emily about the Primal Pattern, and after looking into my mind, she made me a Trump of it. I went there and looked at the Pattern, and then went to Dworkin's Lab and scooped up some Trumps. Among them are the Primal Pattern in his hand, Yg, and some other people and wild places.

I go to Mirelle, and have my implants fully restored, from back-ups kept in my hiding place in my rooms.

We decide that Emma has not forbid walking of Broken Pattern, so she takes me to one, and I walk it, in an attempt to remove the Abyssal Taint. It doesn't work, but I no longer feel the urgency to walk the real Pattern. Later, I make a startling revelation. Roland is Real. After I reactivated the implants, Emily with her linked implants, walked the Pattern. The REAL Pattern. He is now as Real as Emily or myself. I wonder just what we have gotten ourselves into.

"Grandfather!", Katrina shrieked. He had gone insane. Or, more accurately, Abyssal. Llateri corrupted the Logrus, and all of its wielders were now Abyssal. He was trying to kill Emma's children. I track him down in the castle by following the trail of dead guards. They were everywhere. The dead littered the hallways like grains of sand on a beach. Benedict could not be stopped, it seemed. I tracked him to the Throne room. I called out to him. "Grandfather, what are you doing?" Then I saw his eyes. Like black pits, they hung in his head. I pulled my sword, and my bag of tricks. They were useless. As were my power words. He seemed to be a magic dead zone. It must have been the Abyssal Taint. We fought, and he began taking me thru the lessons. Faster than I was able to meet him. I was losing. I knew Grandfather was good, but I never realized how good he really was. He blocked the door of my escape with an Abyssal wall. I was trapped with him. I fought as long as I could, but he cut me badly. It was then that I knew I must escape or die. I headed for the window. I stood on the sill as was forced to jump or die, as his blade came ever closer. I jumped, and grabbed for my fairy dust pouch. I threw it on myself. I tried to think a happy thought, but not fast enough. I hit the ground hard and broke my pelvic bone. I saw Benedict climbing down the trellis. I knew I must disappear if I was to survive. I pulled out my Trumps, and found the one of my room. I used it. Emily Trumped in. She knocked me out cold. When I regained consciousness, Mirelle had fixed my pelvis, though it still hurt badly, and Benedict was dead. Killed by Gawain. Though I could not fault him, I found his glee at killing family members appalling.

Later I limp to the throne room. After gaining Emma's permission, I began to organize the Generals. She had informed me that Chaos was on the way. "All of it." Emma also allows me to open the armory for Corwin's rifles. I do, and then she has the unmitigated gall to ask me if I had amassed troops in shadow, that now would be a good time to bring them in. I assured her that I had not amassed any troops. I told her I would get some quickly, and arm them as well. Shortly, I return with 1000 troops from various shadows. They are armed with Corwin's rifles and swords.

Once I had completed all of that, I find Meredith. I ask her to Trump Despil. I was afraid to do it myself, knowing my limitations. She did Trump him, and shortly announced that "Despil is not the Problem." Gawain finds us moments later asking for a Trump of Despil. Meredith explains her conversation with Despil and Gawain leaves, without the Trump.

I go to Emma and ask about walking the Pattern. I explain that I think it would be wise for all family members who have not done so, to do it now, as we need those abilities in the near future. She gives her consent, and I try trumping to the Primal Pattern. It doesn't work. Fiona had shut off all Trump to there. I head for the basement. I walk the Pattern. Once I reach the center, I rest for quite a while, and then think of the throne room. I show up there in a flash. I think to myself, "Broken Pattern has nothing on this." Emma asks how it was, and I reply, "It was great". '*Sigh*'

Chaos is sited on the sea. I tell Emma to start a storm, but she doesn't have the Jewel. Fiona does. She has Moire start whirlpools. They work somewhat, but Rebma is taking heavy losses. Chaos lands in Amber, and my forces are holding them, but their wounds are not healing. I ask Mirelle about it, but all she has time to say is that it has something to do with Abyss. I find Shaenan, and tell him, "You are our newest Doctor, Come on." He resisted but a little, which is good, because if he had not come at that moment, I may well have beheaded him. I was not in the mood to be thwarted. I find Meredith and have her formulate a spell to capture Shapeshifters. She does admirably well. Once we capture them, I have Shaenan whammy them to turn them to our side, and begin working as shapeshifting doctors as well. I get Werewindel, and begin wielding it. It is an amazing sword.

Suddenly, Fiona summons us all to the Primal Pattern. I go. Chaosian, Abyssal forces attack. Tessa Barimen attacks me immediately. We fight for quite a while. Battle is raging all about us. Someone envelopes Tessa in ice. When she breaks out, the ice falls on me like a ton of bricks. My leg is injured. I try to attack Suhuy's legs, and fail. Later, I am able to spit Suhuy on my sword from beneath him. I attack Llateri. She knocks me down. There is a terrific explosion as Llateri is about to bring Sulemain the Demon thru to the Primal Pattern. Fiona severed all connections among Shadows and I was sent off into Shadow.

Session 10 - Solo Adventure

I land softly in water. That is all I can see for quite a distance. I choose a direction, and begin to swim. And swim. And swim. And swim. I look around from a distance, and see nothing. Until…I feel myself being pulled into a Whirlpool. I begin to swim down in, and then see a "Cracken" at the bottom. I think better, and try to swim away. It isn't working. I am getting awfully close, when I remember the fairy dust. I grab some more and notice that it is getting wet. I think a happy thought and fly. I skim the surface for as long as possible. Then suddenly, I am being pulled under water. A merman has pulled me under. We battle shortly, and then I return to the surface. I see a city underwater though. He comes to the surface and after some discussion, creates gills behind my ears. We swim down… Troops approach, among them is the leader, who calls me by name, and accuses me of large evil against Gawain. Of stealing seed for "Emilith". The troops all seem to be afraid of me. Upon further recollection, I notice they all look like Gawain too. This is either one of his shadows or a shadow of one of his. The leader gives me a hard time, until I offer to kill an "Evil God" for him named "Lotus". She lives with Ravenar on the east edge. The other evil God is the Cracken I saw earlier. I get a map, and head East. After a bit I reach the reef. There is a castle. I sneak in. After some searching I find a servant, who with persuasion, tells me where she is located. I go to Lotus' quarters. I try to sneak in and get shocked. I try to break in thru the wall, and the door opens. I go in, and speak with Lotus. We flirt. She decides either Ravenar or I will survive and orders him to attack me. He does, as a school of Barracuda. I slowly kill them all, but not without much injury. I flirt more. We talk, and I slowly move forward. When close enough I spit her on my sword as well. I try to leave and everything goes dark. Some sort of ink in the water. Finally it clears, and I see an "Ursula" type being, octopus and ugly woman. We have a minor altercation. I create a gate. I step thru. On the other side, I step to the side and wait. When a tentacle comes thru I cut it. It withdraws quickly. The people of Mu allow me to stay. Everyone avoids me.
