JLA

This is a page I've made as a tribute to my favorite superhero team, DC comics' Justice league of America (or JLA). These were the core members of the team as of issue 7 (before Wonder Woman 'died' and Green Arrow quit).

The paintings were done by Alex Ross except for Green Arrow, which was painted by myself (As you can see, I'm not nearly as good as Alex).

The Backgrounds, Typesetting, Logos, and overall design were by me.

these are the faces of the seven humanoid members of JLA as they would appear out of costume. The faces depicted were chosen by WIZARD comics magazine as the best possible people to portray these heroes, since their appearences, acting talents or personalities come closest to those of the heroes. Included are Alec Baldwin, Matthew McCoughnahay, Dean Cain, and Bruce Campbell.

This is Superman and Martian Manhunter, the leaders of the team, as well as the only aliens. Superman bears the responsibility of being the #1 man on the team, and the guy who everyone expects to bail them out when they get in over their heads. The Manhunter is enigmatic and mysterious, and is often judged because of his non-human appearence.

This is Aquaman and Wonder Woman, who both have strong warrior spirits. As you can see, these characters have been through some drastic changes since you last saw them on Superfriends (in other words, they're not useless anymore).

This is The Flash and Green Lantern, the youngest members of the group. They are both newer versions trying to carry the legacies of the men who came before them, and they both have some big shoes to fill.

This is Batman and Green Arrow, the only two members that lack any superhuman powers. What they lack in power they more than make up for in intellect and willpower, and I'd pick these two to beat any combination of the other members. (Why? simple: if Batman has time to prepare...and he always finds time to prepare...he will always find his opponent's weakness and exploit it to its fullest. To beat Batman you would have to outsmart the world's greatest detective, and that's almost impossible. Plus, under the Bat's tutelage, Green Arrow's pinpoint accuracy would take the others out before they even knew what hit them).
