"I was surprised and impressed to learn that the clinic is
run on a non–profit basis, helping those who are unable to pay for primary
care elsewhere. If other communities in which financially challenged people
in need of health care lived had similar clinics in which generous and
unselfish physicians practiced honest, self sacrificial medicine, many
of the problems concerning American health care would be solved"

Our commitment continues
"Thank you for the free health physicals you gave my children at your health fair. If it weren’t for Packard Community Clinic, I don’t know where my children would go for school physicals. I don't’ have much money and your fair helps my children go to school and play sports healthy. Thank you for caring"

Economic crisis continues
Packard Community Clinic continues to see an increase in the number of people who are uninsured or economically disadvantaged.
As drug costs mount, senior citizens are having more difficulty in buying medications they need. We help with medicine, especially when it is exorbitant–$100 or more for one prescription.
Many of our patients come from Ypsilanti and surrounding areas and are not eligible for CDBG; we provide assistance with their fees.

Our physicians are committed to providing quality medical care to all members of the community, including individuals and families of lower income. Few physicians accept medicaid patients because of the low reimbursement rate; we still do! We continue to use a sliding fee for those without insurance coverage.
