Text (required):

David C. Lay, "Linear algebra and its applications", third edition.
We will cover most of the material in the book.

Exams:

There will be a 1-hour exam and the final exam. During the exams you will NOT be allowed to use books, notebooks, calculators, etc... No makeups will be given.
  • Final exam: Monday, December 15, 1:30-3:30 pm.
  • Midterm exam: Wednesday, October 22, in class.
  • Homeworks:

  • Wedneday I will give homework during class and you will have a week to complete it, i.e. you should return your homework the following Wednesday in class. No late homework will be accepted.
  • You are encouraged, in fact, very much so, to discuss with each other your strategies and solutions. However, you have to write up the final form of your answers yourself, meaning with your own formulations and words.
  • Write clearly. Essentially write in the same way that you would wish I would write myself.
  • Please use a stapler and write your name clearly on every page.
  • Here you can find the HOMEWORK and some form of SYLLABUS.

    The final grade will be computed as follows: Final exam 60%, Mideterm exam 30% and homework 10%.
