Tell a tale of motion

Great stories often have action in them. Spider Man wrestles with Doc Ock, Prince Eric takes on the Sea Witch, Esmeralda and the Hunchback struggle with Judge Claude Frollo.

Today you're going to write a scene of your own, with help from a famous author. You'll read what she (or he) wrote, then retell the story in your own words. After you've written the story, you'll have a chance to put it on the World Wide Web where everyone can see it.

You can choose from three stories:

Black Beauty is the tale of the life of a London street horse. In this scene, Beauty and her rider chase after a runaway horse, trying to catch up to her before she falls and hurts herself.

Dragon, Dragon tells the story of a kingdom plagued by a dragon and the wise cobbler's sons' efforts to get rid of the dragon and win the hand of the princess.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is the story of a boy living on the Mississippi River. His father, who he hasn't seen in a long time, is described in this scene.
