Patrick Souza is in his junior year at the University of Michigan pursuing dual degrees in bassoon performance and physics. Originally from American Falls, Idaho, Patrick performed with the Idaho All-State band and the Idaho Civic Symphony and took first place in the Idaho state solo competition. In his senior year Patrick moved to Wooster, Ohio to study bassoon with Barrick Stees and perform with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra in Severance Hall. At the University of Michigan, Patrick currently performs with the University Symphony Orchestra. His wind quintet was recently featured at a pre-concert presentation for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and performed Samuel Barber's Summer Music as part of the orchestra's celebration of Barber's centennial year.
