Timothy Abbott
Timothy Abbott is in the second year of his Masters in Music degree in Bassoon Performance at the University of Michigan, under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Lyman. Tim completed his studies at Indiana University in 2008 where he graduated with a Bachelors in Music in Bassoon Performance as well as a Bachelors in Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. While at Indiana University, Tim studied primarily with Arthur Weisberg and William Ludwig. He also studied with Christopher Weait and Timothy McGovern on modern bassoon, and spent one year with Michael McCraw on the baroque and classical bassoons. Furthermore, Tim spent a semester abroad in 2007 at the Sydney Conservatorium where he studied with Andrew Barnes. This past summer, Tim performed with the National Repertory Orchestra for 8 weeks in Breckenridge, Colorado.
