Emily Breeding is a freshman pursuing dual degrees in Art & Design and Bassoon Performance. She grew up in Plano, Texas, where she studied with Peter Unterstein and was a member of the Texas All-Region, All-Area, and All-State Bands. During the summer of 2007, she moved to Suwanee, Georgia, where she was a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and principal bassoonist of the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble for two years. In Georgia, she participated in the District Honor Band and All-State Band and Orchestra. In Atlanta, Emily studied with Patty Dusold and Carl Nitchie and occasionally performed with the Georgia State University large ensembles.
Emily's significant performances include the solo bassoon part for the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra's claymation production of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, Atlanta's 2008 Centennial Park Fourth of July Celebration with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble's May 2009 performance in Carnegie Hall.
