I joined Tricia
Kiley's lab at Wisconsin. My project involves characterizing IscR, a regulator of iron-sulfur cluster formation in Escherichia coli.
I was privileged/masochistic enough to do an honors thesis at Michigan. My work was done in the lab of Dr. Frederick C. Neidhardt, eminent microbiologist and really nice guy.
I also worked for the wild 'n' crazy Bardwell lab, where I learned many things, including what a common misspelling of my last name means in German. It's not nice.
I was the 1998-99 president of the U-M Students of Biology . I'm not sure this group is even around, but I think the web page is still up. Try to find a cheesy picture of me on that site!
