Welcome to the website of Jim Christian. I am a joint-degree student at the University of Michigan,
where I am studying both Art & Design and Mechanical Engineering.
Being a designer is about giving form to the world. Therefore, I feel that it is a designer's responsibility to understand not only aesthetics and function, but also physical laws, material use, and manufacturing processes. Our world deserves good stuff, and it is my responsibility to give it that.
My interest is in studying the design process from multiple angles. Every problem we encounter requires a unique solution, therefore every design process requires a fresh approach. My goal is to integrate a currently disparate system, and to develop a design process that works harmoniously from all approaches.
